Yes I know about the Car Show in Windham on Saturday. But in case anybody is tired of the usual Car Show Format, there is an Alternative.
This Year is the 25th Annual Rod Run at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds hosted by Rods & Kustom Kruizers. Now you have to Understand that a Rod Run does not involve any $15.00 Cheap Ass Trophies. This one does involve seeing old friends all weekend. Having a camper is almost required but some manage to have a good time without it. It is going on as I write this and ends on Sunday.
An Ice cream Cruise is Scheduled for Friday, NSRA Inspections from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, kids games for the youngest Rodders go on Saturday Afternoon, a pot luck supper on Saturday Night with a Street Dance with a live band into the wee hours of the night.
Western Maine Street Rods are doing the Happy Days Diner with Hotdogs in great abundance for Saturday's lunch and Adult Beverages are Allowed all weekend.
So if you need the Trophy go to Windham, If you need to relax and say "ahhh" come to Fryeburg

Don't want to offend anyone, but we aren't a street rod. Would have loved to spend time with everyone, but we did't fit. We know that and so we chose to go to Windham, get very uncomfortably hot BUT have a good time with friends from close by and afar. Good job Stan & Cheryl for the first show to benefit the scholarship fund. A few alterations next year would be good, but all in all life is good. We made it there and home again all in the same day and safely to boot!! Hope to see everyone tomorrow and sure am looking forward to frozen custard!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo Offense taken and no slight to the rest of the hobby was meant or intended.
ReplyDeleteI hope Windham was as fun for you as Fryeburg was for us.
