Memorial Day

A time to thank those that have given us our Freedom. Our freedom to own and operate our vehicles, to build them the way we want them.

It is also a time to remember those that will pass our way no more. That list seems to be growing.

Because of the Rain out last week this will be the first Cruise In at Tractor Supply in Oxford. As it look now it should prove to be a good day for it.

Need some reports on the Oxford Thing and hopefully some reader went to the Corinna Show, up at Thunder Valley.

Not much to write about

High Speed Communication My ASS

Here is the latest on posting Comments to the Blog.

3 Comments dated 5-12-11 came in this morning for the posting titled "Comments". Today is the 21st, correct??

The Internet is a wonderful thing. But you could have used the USPS and gotten your comments here quicker, or better yet 2 cans and some string.

Maybe Al Gore did invent the Internet ?

Naples Car Show

According to a Message From Mr. Ken Matthews the Naples Car Show has been rescheduled to SUNDAY the 22nd. No reason why, but probably the weather. Adding to the Glitches one day at a time.

Yep Its Raining

So I get this Message, and it states that the Raymond School Show  is on for August 21st and it came from the Gerry Clan themselves so I'm thinking its a real message not some rumor as they are the ones that put it on last year and maybe this year I can Make it.

In other news we are writing this with an updated editor program and are waiting to see if that was the problem with the comments.

As usual the dates for Naples Sons of the American Legion Car Show are contradicting themselves but Saturday is the most common date shown. This seems to be an ongoing problem with this show for some reason, perhaps its to close to Route 302.

Rain is predicted for the reasonable future or even the unreasonable future. With this being said perhaps a Top Notch Show may consider using the Coast Guard to Judge "Best of Show"

Comments Chapter 2

Comments being posted to this blog seem to be an iffy thing. Some come through, some don't. As far as I can tell it is not a Blog problem but in all likelihood a provider problem. It may be that the Provider is reading your comment as a virus or spam and not allowing it to go through. It could be that the planets are not aligned correctly, that the Gods of the Internet just don't like you.

Anyway I DID NOT go to Bonney Eagle or as some are now calling it Scrawny Beagle. I have had a couple of comments via e-mail that ranged from same old shit to really good.

Next week is the Naples Show on Saturday. Will this one be better or worse than its earlier incarnations.

Comments

For the second time in recent history I have Recieved an E-Mail from a reader saying that their comment won't go through. This is not due to my blocking comments. this is either a security issue or a glitch in the system.

I would like everybody that reads this to leave a comment. If it does not goe through send via E-Mail to the Address on the Right Hand Side of Screen.

In another matter I read a Headline in today's Sun Journal that read,"Peacock Roaming Coastal Town" it went to say that a mysterious peacock was wandering aimlessly around Kennebunk. Please somebody go get Jim he forgot how to get home.

Lately

The rumor mill says that the Wells Show was good and had a few surprises in the Awards area. Congrats to the winners. But what is this Play I heard about???

This weekend is the old War Horse, Bonney Eagle, which in years past has been a thoroughbred but now seems destined for the plow. From Premiere to Ordinary would be a good adage. Expect the crowds, the mix master called "Classes" and possibly a decent swap meet area. But not much else except the Traffic Jam when you leave. It's turned into every other show, only larger.

Also this Weekend is the NSRA Appreciation Day in Lebanon ME at Duckworth Automotive. Geared for the Members of the NSRA its a chance for the Hot Rod guys to get Safety Inspections and the Camaraderie that comes with the territory. It's Free to Members and a Pot Luck Lunch will be served. Bring some food and share.

In all likelihood this will be the Last Year of the Hodgman's Frozen Custard Show on Father's Day. It is sad to say but this perennial favorite is lacking Manpower and has relied on several organizations to get it through the day in the past few years. The Knucklebusters have done a hell of a job and will continue on with the members left as a Club, but no longer feel they can put on the Quality show the Hodgman's Frozen Custard Show has been. The Hodgman's have stated in the past that when the Knucklebusters give it up then the the Show will done, for good.

Another Thing or Things

Some of you may be having an issue with posting comments to what is written here. I assure you I am not editing anything or keeping anything from being posted. As always any comment will be posted as long as there is no profanity being used for profanities sake. If you can not post a comment, E-Mail it, I can do the copy and paste thing as I did for the last posting and comment from Pretty Woman.

Deb Mosher from Cruise Maine Magazine wanted the word spread about the Maine Bike and Car Fest Show at Oxford Plains Dust Bowl and how she has three dates that they want cars to display at the gate for promotional consideration. Not a bad idea as long as you can beat some of the Human Cantelopes off with a stick. If your interested contact Deb Mosher at Cruise Maine Magazine. I think everybody got one yesterday at Medomak.

Next we have the Togus Veteran's BBQ and the Rusty Nuts needing help. They are all set or seem to be at this time. This is a transitional year for them and has been a little rough with egos and politics. We all know about politics from the Latin-Poli, meaning Many & Tics, meaning Blood Sucking Butt Lumps. I plan on leading a group from L/A as I have in years past and getting there at our leisure. After all it is about the veterans not somebodies grand scheme or political agenda. Rumor has it that next years will be downsized to be more user friendly for Veterans and Participants.

Medomak

And the season is off to a glorious start with a fantastic show put on by the Class of 2011 at Medomak Valley High School. Best turnout ever was the word heard through out the day and from the looks of the area used for the Show it truly was the best turnout ever.

With the usual glitches here and there and a gate crew that was doing the best job they could with 2 lines running most of the morning, no major complaints were heard by myself or anyone I talked too.

There were a few moments of Douchebaggery but it was the usual players and actually it seemed quite normal. Those that were witness to the momentous performance of the Dance of a Thousand Douches were thoroughly enthralled and quite enchanted.

Great Job all in all and it only gets better with age.
