Zoiks and Away

Ring a bell? Heard that expression before? Think on it, it'll come to you.

So today the Mayhem known as the "Season" began. Medomak Valley High School Cruisin to Graduation Car Show was today and yes it was, mayhem that is.

500lbs. of shit packed into a 300lb. receptacle is called a Blivet, 500 cars packed into 300 car parking area is called Mayhem. But controlled Mayhem, edging on the border of clusterfuck but still mayhem and we enjoyed every minute, didn't we. It was great seeing those happy faces that are finally getting out from a mild but long winter. It was nice to see all the changes made over the winter to the vehicles or the lack thereof.

Registration was a mess, but did we care, probably not. They ran out of room, but did we squawk about it, not that I heard anyway. What I felt was the line from "Jaws" where the sheriff makes the statement,"You're gonna need a bigger boat". Yep there gonna need a bigger playground or possibly become a show like Bonney Eagle.

I can't tell you who got the $25.00 Dollar Cheap Ass Trophy or even who didn't. I left at about noon, not in a huff or over some bullshit political scenario played out in one of my detractors tiny little brains, but because there was another place to go.

Bentley's Saloon  in Arundel packed 200 cars and hot rods of all shapes and sizes into a space meant to hold motorcycles of about the same number and they served food and adult beverages with a real live band.

So with an early start, good travels, fine friends and a tank full of fuel, it was exactly the start of a very fine season that I needed.
