We have been getting dates and minor details on upcoming events and posting those on the Road Scholars Site on a regular basis. As most of you know I run both and try very hard not to let the opinions of this blog run into the Business of the Road Scholars.
Everybody has their opinion of the club and as far as that goes its none of our business what you think.
The Club does however pride itself in the use of a tool, we all have, to the best of its ability and that tool is information. Local Shows to National Events, Clothing to Insurance, Swap Meets, News Commentary and Photos all come with the visit, they even have a list of eatery's, free of charge to you and your organization to use as you want. Contacts to other Clubs and Blogs is a necessary evil in this day and age and those to are also provided to you all.
This year they expanded it a little by posting most of the larger venues from all over New England, because believe me or not, shows do happen beyond the borders of Maine.
Now that we have gotten over that bit of shameless promotion, its onward with rumors and other contrived verbiage that could be called news.
So far a few of these shows have argued the Special Interest class conflicts and drama of last year and 2 have confirmed that they have no interest in Special Interest and have gone with a Custom Class or Open Class thus eliminating a bit of Drama from their full agenda. Other shows of which another 2 have said it will be on the agenda of a future meeting, are also leaning in the that direction. With this being on the agenda at many club meetings, hopefully others will spread the word that alternatives can be made and the old enjoyable car shows can return.
Maybe this year I won't have to pack my Chainsaw to cut the Tension.

It would truly be nice to get back to the good days when we attend a show to do just that, show our prides and joys and have a heck of a good time with out friends. I, for one, missed that at several shows last year. A big THANK YOU for your efforts.
ReplyDeleteWell said Deb! I also miss the days B.V. (like B.C.- you should be able to figure this out)I applaud the efforts of everyone involved in putting SI to bed. This class serves only to create drama! The only thing I fear is that as one class goes, what is the next point to be beaten into pulp and shoved down our throats? Unfortunatly people don't change, and the people who have gleefully beaten the SI horse into the ground are still around, regardless of the class' fate. Oh, well time will tell. We'll still be there, We'll still have a good time. Thats my 12:30 am rant for now!
ReplyDeleteHopefully the clubs will remember the changing wheels ,putting in a big motor or fancy paint dosn,t make a CUSTOM. BODY MODS are CUSTOMS
ReplyDeleteStirring the pot in the new year
