As most of you may know Barret -Jackson was this past weekend in Scottsdale AZ. What you may not know is that is only one of several Automobile and Automobilia related Auctions in Scottsdale that same weekend.
All the big name Auction Outlets come to make the rich poorer and us poor folks cry. Lets face it these auctions are just one rich guy selling his car to another rich guy and not caring what they pay or how it affects the market. In doing so they keep these inflated prices up so that ordinary Joes like us can't compete.
However this year was a little different as Mother Nature came into play and reduced the prices of some of these vehicles, drastically. Russo & Steele had erected giant tents to keep the cars in much like they do every year. A storm went whipping through and ripped up the tents and damaged the cars and trucks beyond belief. Then hail came in with rain and really made matters worse.
The final Tally was 1.5 Million dollars in damage to over 600 vehicles.
We all have at one time or another used a Canopy as shelter from the rain or sun and most use some sort of Spike or Weight to secure it, but can we be sure that is enough. Make sure its secure, make sure the one next to you is secure. When it gets windy, take it down or take off the canopy portion. I don't want it to happen to any of you and we all need to be aware that this can happen very quickly. I have provided a link so that you may view the damage. It is rather scary and sickening.
