Picture in your mind a peaceful day of August in which a small tranquil field slowly fills with cars and trucks. The silence only broken by the cackle of exhaust or a greeting from an old friend. People who greet each other with a smile or a handshake and some even a hug. Even some of the greatest rivals greeted each other with respect and a cup of coffee.
Is this an imaginary world only to be found in your dreams. Or is it possible that on the hottest day of the summer, an aspect of our hobby could show up the best organized shows in the State. Where a field filled with 188 cars of every color & shape could exist without a clash of egos or personalities, where a virtual babe in the woods on his first voyage to the land of Rods could be presented with the biggest award of the day.
A day where the only complaint heard was about it being to far to get to a bathroom.
This was Down East Street Rod's Rod Run at Hebron Pines Campground and it was great .

Hells Yes! This was BY FAR the best show of the year so far! The rides were spectacular, the crowd there was really cool, no drama at all... Just a bunch of true car enthusiasts getting together and having a good time. NO POLITICS, NO POACHERS, NO WHINING, NO BULLSHIT!
ReplyDeleteWhat you said at the end of the day was absolutly right... That was what it SHOULD be all about! Wish we had more shows like that, and CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE 38th Annual!
