Leaving at 8:30 Thursday morning with 6 cars in my rear view, we meandered our way up the road and picked up 2 more for our 9 car journey to Vermont.
Stopping for fuel along the way was always a good time as the locals got to see the cars and wonder what the hell was going on. We made good time until just outside of Lancaster NH. when the construction troll came out his hole and told us to stop for about 10 minutes.
As we usually have a routine that we go through and this year leaving earlier than normal change our lunch location by about 40 miles, we found a great place to fill the old pie hole.
The Moose Look Diner in N. Concord VT. looks like real shit hole, until you enter, then you see the miss matched tables and chairs uneven floors and closet called the Men's room. Then you notice the 12 or so locals having lunch and feel better.
We sat down at 12 noon with 18 people, 2 waitresses, 1 cook. We ordered everything from Chicken Burgers to BLTs and were served excellent food, got our checks and were back on the road by 1 o'clock. This place is worth going to every time you go by it.
The construction troll came out again about 20 miles further on but it was time for fuel so we got to watch others wait in line.
The weekend at Burlington was as good as expected even with the rain late Saturday afternoon. As the awards were handed out a few of our local boys got recognized for their efforts with Mark Paige garnering a Safety/Rep award and Mike Simmons getting the Event Directors Pick.
Good travel,Great time, Great scenery, Better friends. That's what its about.
