"Its the End of The World as We Know It"

Today basically was the last show for me and most of those in attendance. It has proven to be an interesting season with an even more interesting ending.

The point that was being made was made, Special Interest is a hole to put cars and trucks in. This was seen today, with a few people not knowing what was going on and a few others not willing or wanting to listen. Oh well, maybe next time they will realize that the three vehicles that are not usually in S.I. were not competing and made no attempt too. Thus they played no part in the voting for any vehicle in S.I. and can not be accused of cheating.

The New Gloucester Lions try really hard to put on a quality Show and will eventually get it as long they get good input and not criticism. They need more knowledge at the gate as letting my car in S.I. could have been stopped, but they asked me where I wanted to go. Other than that a fun filled day with some great people and great times.

Now on a note of credit. Team 207 is possibly the most maligned and scrutinized Club in the State. Today they proved to me and many of those in attendance that this thought process is way off base. They handled a problem in the area with certain individuals that have no respect for us or them.

They as a Club represented themselves in the utmost manner by seeking the proper authority to quell the minor disruption of sound and decorum. In other words they bitch slapped some punk ass motherfuckers into turning down the Michael Jackson Revue. They should get a pat on the back. They have showed us, the "Old Guys", a lot of respect this year and we definetly need to show them the same.

Kudos To Team 207 and Thanx.

All in all a good day with many trophy winners that surprised a few people and weather that surprised us all. Congrats to all the Winners

  1. It's too bad that a few "people" will make others around them look bad. Team 207 is one of the best organized and active clubs in the state. The members have shown time and time again that they are all CAR LOVERS first, tuner guys after-and have a good time doing it!I have never seen any of their members show anything but respect to the other owners/clubs. (The complete opposite of the troublemakers at NG) Good job guys, keep it going strong- your doing it right!
As for the other thing, I think (hope?) that the point that was made will sink in- time will tell, I guess, but it seems that no matter what, some people refuse to see another side. Anyway, another season put to bed, hope everybody has a good and safe winter and see y'all in the spring!

Thanks Frank and Big Mike. Dispite all the different drama filled issues that happened this year in the car show circut there has been nothing but positive talk about Team 207. The makes me along with the rest of our club feel proud and honored that our objectives and goals as a respectful, non politcal, and/or bias club are being seen by others. Thank you guys again for your support. It is greatly appreciated by you and all. Hopefully we will all meet up at some point during another Maine winter. Until then thank you.

  4. Hey y'all
Apparently the sandbox is not quite closed for the year.
Just wanted to let your readers know that I recently left a comment on "Blog X" to point out some irregularities in their definition of SI. Unfortunatly, I didn't copy & paste or screen shot it for you all, so I will re-cap in case it gets edited or not posted at all.
The Willys Jeepster that was "legitimatly" in special interest is not or was ever intended as a "rugged & versatile" vehicle as the Jeep was. It was intended as a roadster to capitalize on the fondness for the original Jeeps held by GI's returning to post-war, suburban America. The original Jeep which was also sold to civilians was designed to be "rugged and veratile". I also pointed out that the jeepster in question is a beautifully restored vehicle owned by a nice couple that I have only talked to a few times. I also pointed out that I had seen Mr. V hanging out with these people at numerous shows and I think that he seems to be bending the rules for a friend. (his original post justifying this was on Oct. 4th)
I concluded by stating that my own, nor the Road Scholars vehicles in SI at the NG show yesterday even displayed a voting number, and that I hope that the organizers will realize how much drama SI causes and will eliminate it from their shows in the future.
I am just writing you this in case my comment is not displayed or edited there.
    Thank you.
