Does anybody communicate with anybody or do people think that they are the most important thing happening on the damn planet.
July was a virtual wasteland of scheduled car shows and August is cramming an entire summer into 3 weekends. Somebody check the past calendar and see what's open. With 8 different events scheduled for one weekend and another 6 the next and another 4 for this coming weekend how in the fuck are these nimrods going to get any type of count at their event.
The demise of several events has left gaps in the schedule big enough to back an elephant through yet no one organization of trained marmosets seems to be able to schedule their little circus to fill the gap.
Instead we get this gang bang of events that might be fun to attend but not having a Star Trek transporter beam in my fucking pocket makes that rather difficult. I'm thinking these fools need a come to Jesus meeting and be taught how to read a calendar.
So throw your dart and whatever it hits is what you attend. Mine was caught by the wind and hit a shithouse.

Catching Up PT2
Road trips are always fun and the trip to Syracuse was no different. On the road with good friends in the wee hours was not as bad as you would think. Fast food is not the best and anything south of New Hampshire is served by non English speaking personages. But we muddled through.
We arrived without incident and saw at least 1000 vehicles at the host hotel. We decided on an early line up when we heard they started getting line around midnight and thought it was steaming hot pavement for us but our intrepid guide found a grassy area built for 3 cars from Maine and we had it great. Food, Bathrooms and shade all within sight and an easy walk.
It was awesome. over 8,000 vehicles and more vendors than you can imagine. We walked at least 10 miles the first day and smartened up the next and used the tram system. This show is a must at least once.
CVMA Run ( Burgers Bikes and Rods) was great as always and our support helped them raise $5k towards the program. A new route was chosen and was much more pleasant than in years past. I had the opportunity to talk to a member at length and he was in awe of the turn out and the cars especially. With 21 cars it was the best turn out on our part to date. Great Job.

Catching Up Part1
My god where have I been.
We did the Front Street Shuffle. We saw many faces that had never been to this little chunk of heaven and we also saw the ones that needed to be first and foremost at the top of the hill so they could obtain the recognition they so rightly deserve, only to be out done by those that actually deserve to be at the top. My only issue is the start time. If you are going to let people in early then post it as such.
The one thing I learned over the years about this event is that at times its a tight squeeze to leave the further up the hill you are.
We also did this thing at Owl's Head Transportation on the following weekend and they as always put on a wonderful event. The new director is a real firecracker and is shaking things up in a really big way. Not only has the mandate of old, that everything in the museum run, he also wants to see it move. They are promoting their events with TV ads and radio spots in a huge get the word out campaign and if you have never been there I suggest you go and see for yourselves the vast difference a new director can make.

July 1
So we went to this little show in Poland on the 27th. It was a park where you want with no classes show. It was a 3 awards only show. It was a kick back and relax, Strawberry Festival, Horse cart rides, guided tours wander around a historical site and give a shit about nothing Show.
Well organized, best venue in forever, gracious hosts, shade trees in abundance, room to expand and just a great all around day. The only issue is the date. you had the Clarke Show in Windham, Veteran's BBQ in Togus and a Rockabilly Riot in Acton.
Then we draw a blank on this next weekend with only the Front Street Shuffle.
Every Show could take a cue from Poland. Somebody needs to stop throwing darts at a dart board to pick their dates.
