Two days, 2 shows, great iffy weather and a story.
Andover, was as always, a great show with some great cars and the weather started crappy but finished strong. There didn't seem to be any hanky panky in the classes or awards and the shit truck didn't show up midway through, for the douching of porta shitters. Well Now that was the frosting on the cake wasn't it.
Oxford was as usual packed with great weather to start and rain to close it out. A little trophy poaching was seen and people running the gate didn't like being over ruled and probably won't help next year. Well Now like we didn't see that coming. The thing I didn't see coming, is a certain worshiper of the almighty $25.00 Cheap Ass Trophy chose not compete by scratching out his number. He also realized that he could have great day without getting an award.
Gather round children for the story.
Seems the Reverend Cat Crate has pulled the wool over some people eyes and passed himself off as a judge at a car show earlier in the year. It probably would have been OK if the Reverend had of picked a car in the class that was actually deserving of the trophy. Picking a car, you at one point owned, for first place was wrong in the eyes of the participants, organizers and even God frowned. God doesn't play favorites and neither should he.Then we get the prayer cards and the name change and all is right with the world. I'm thinking not.
I feel bad that a defrocked man of the cloth has to stoop that low to raise his self esteem. I feel worse for the Organizers of the show that he screwed as it will be hard to get the respect back that was lost because of his antics. If your thinking I'm going say I feel for the Participants who didn't get what was rightfully theirs, I'll say this, "Y'all Motherfuckers need Jesus" it was, after all is said and done, a $25.00 Cheap Ass Trophy. But still it wasn't right.
If you would all rise and open your hymnals to page 73 so we may all sing.
Give me that old time religion
Give me that old time religion
Give me that old time religion
It's good enough for me.

OOPS
Yeah I know. Believe Me I know.
Sometimes you just need a little in incentive, other times not so much incentive as you do time.
We started out slow this season and just haven't had the enthusiasm this year as we have in the past. We missed Medomak and that threw us all off a bit but then we went to York and here it is July and its been a month since our last post.
York, PA. was a great time put on by the NSRA. Over 3,000 vehicles filled the town and its surroundings for the last day of May and first 2 days of June. Vendors, Entertainment, Good People, Fun Evenings and Close Friends made this weekend Terrific. Oh we took wrong turns and made some laughs on ourselves on the way down but that is what makes for a good time.
Before we came home we spent some time at Gettysburg. Being the 150th Anniversary of the Momentous Battle of the American Civil War it was awe inspiring and more. I can not really describe the feelings or sights of this area. I can say that you need to be there a see for yourself the magnitude of space manpower and history that is preserved for all to see.
Owl's Head was just plain crazy. Cars, Cars and more Cars. That was from the Museum as the new director pulled out more vehicles to actually drive in the 2 days that we were there than in the past 10 years says that things have changed at Owl's Head...for the better.
Nothing ever changes quickly around here except the amount of cheating, lying, trophy poaching little bitches that are now gaining another foothold on the hobby, but that is the norm not the unusual.
At Harrison I did what I normally did and put my placard on my seat so as not obtain or garner any votes away from a better vehicle. Minutes after walking away and visiting with some participants, I turn to see my placard in my windshield. Now I don't know if it was done as joke or by one of the organizers, to show his authority or perhaps it could be a reader of this rag, it doesn't really matter as you my friend are a Douche Bag.
You do not reach inside a persons vehicle without permission for any reason. Plain and simple. Beating you about the head and shoulders with a used condom would be to good for you. I will be kind and leave it at that but at the time of the incident your family heritage, your gender and whether you knew your father did come into question.
The season is about half done. hopefully I'll get something to write about regularly.

Updates
Yes we made it to and back from the Street Rod Nationals East in York PA. Great venue to be a car person, with more vendors than seen in this area and car count that surpassed 3500.
Then we get back and realize that we need to update a few things.
The new Cruise night at the Landmark Restaurant in Turner needs a little support from us and Mother Nature as they are either swamped out or get no one to show.
Another Cruise night that needs a helping hand is just down the road from the Landmark. Roy's All Steak Hamburgers wants to bring it back to what it once was. The crowd over the last few years has dwindled to almost nothing. J. Roy the owner, has talked with several of the local enthusiast to find out what it will take to get them to come back and bounced some ideas off them.
Rumor has it that the Dancing Dipstick is now shuffling his feet someplace else and a new DJ has been hired. The potential has already increased with that move and will even more so with the addition of live music from time to time.
Now this months Duh Award will go to the Rumford Eagles Car Show. Oh you didn't hear about it either? Well its happening this Fathers Day Weekend in Rumford, someplace, on Saturday, or possibly Sunday.
We got the NSRA 2 day Appreciation Day at OWL's Head. Its free to get in and they throw in free reign of the Museum both days. If your an NSRA member you could get a chance to get in the air in their Stearman Bi-Plane.
Until next time.

Cruise Nights and Things
Ok, I'll admit that I'm not a cruise night type of person. Either due to the time frame or location, I just don't see the big deal. Some are good, some aren't, simple. Most have started or will be soon.
Changes are in abundance with an addition or 2 and some locational changes and deletions to others.
First the deletions and contrary to a popular magazine and its adjoining web site the Maine Coastal Cruisers monthly cruise in at 5 Points in Biddeford is no more. Because of the work involved, the cost involved and a change in the clubs officers they have decided to get back to the Cruiser portion of their name and call it a done deal. The Thursday night Cruise In listed for TJ's Pizza in Biddeford is also done and gone with that one being moved to the Drydock Restaurant on the same night.
CHoP is another locational change and will now be held on the other side of the highway with its own food for those that do not wish to partake in crossing Rte 100. I never realized that Mr. Stuart Pidd had a controlling interest in CHoP.
Now there is a new kid on the block up in Turner at the Landmark Restaurant on Rte4 (formerly the Chic-A-Dee. I know food is better and the owners father in-law is a Car Guy and the Property Owner is another Car Guy. The distance from the residence of the Dancing Dipstick is a stone throw yet I understand he is not participating as the blithering DJ.
Another that never gets much attention is up in Woodstock at the Woodstock Oil Company parking lot on 6/20, 7/18, 8/15. It is a hike but it is still in the borders of our fine state.
Which raises a Question. Why do we travel 3 hours to a Show in our state when we could go an hour to New Hampshire for the same $25.00 Cheap Ass Trophy.

Trophy Whores Melt.
So Moody's was a wash out as the rain started at 8am and didn't stop until about 10. A little rain never hurt anyone but it did kinda put a crimp in the Show.
They had a few hardy souls that let mother nature wash their rides and dampen the show but the spirit of giving was never more apparent than the dog and cat food brought in to support the ASPCA.
The nice part was the fact that there was no jockeying for position or fighting over who got what. The ones that showed up, were there because they wanted to be, not for some awards that collect dust or enhance the size of your penis.
Trophy hunters, turds and sugar must all melt in the rain.
Didn't see any at Moody's.
